Job Summary:
Under the direction of, and reporting to the Printing Leader, the Printing Operator is responsible for operation and quality of product and efficiencies of the flexo lines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set-up printer press which includes adjusting speed. Tension and alignment of printing plate following written procedures and instructions.
- Ensure correct stock and inks, determine final register and printer quality checkout or printed set-up quality.
- Responsible for making quality related decisions utilizing production specification testing.
- Perform press plate/mounting adjustments as required.
- Oversee the Printing Helper mix ink and take viscosities to maintain required colors.
- Prepare the press for the succeeding press run by performing line clearance procedures.
- Perform and document all the necessary testing of both raw materials and finished products using established company test methods.
- Perform all necessary preventative maintenance as required.
- Make quality related decisions utilizing product specification testing.

- Responsible for making time and quantity entries into the computer system.
- Provide leadership and direction for all machine crew members when operating the line.
- Provide training to Printing Helpers and operators as assigned.
- Provide necessary communication between processes and shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, or Associate degree in Printing/Flexography or equal education and experience desired.
- 3-5 years of Flexo experience desired.
- Proficient at color matching capabilities desired.
- Must be able to pass a color proficiency test and color blindness test.
- Web handling fundamentals.
- Beginner level computer skills.
- High school math skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently with team members.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands to operate tools and equipment
- Ability to lift and move objects over 50 pounds
- Vision requirements include close vision, color recognition, and focus adjustment
