Additional Information: Show/Hide QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires command of the English language; knowledge of designated academic, vocational, and/or specialized areas of learning sufficient to instruct students at a specified level of achievement; proper classroom supervision techniques and procedures.
Must possess the skill to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions in an independent manner; verbally communicate in an effective and tactful manner; understand the needs of assigned students and to effectively relate to those needs in a learning situation; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; supervise students in a variety of situations; maintain calm and patient in stressful situations; establish and maintain cooperative and effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
Must possess the ability to assist teachers and/or administrators in developing and implementing curriculum for a specialized area of instruction such as vocational education, computerized labs, remedial lessons etc.; supervise students to maintain effective learning environment; disciplining when necessary under the direction of a certificated staff member; assists in preparing and maintaining required paper work, records, and reports for assigned program area as necessary; perform related duties as required.
Clerical experience is desirable. Completion of the twelfth grade is required, preferably supplemented by college level courses.
CERTIFICATION OF DISTRICT PROFICIENCY IN THE AREAS OF BASIC READING, WRITING, AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED. ONE OF THE FOLLOWING MAY BE SUBMITTED IN PLACE OF THE DISTRICT PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATE:
DIPLOMA FROM A REGIONALY ACCREDITED CALIFORNIA HIGH SCHOOL AFTER JANUARY 1, 1981.

PROOF OF SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE CBEST TEST
POSSESSION OF A VALID CALIFORNIA TEACHING CREDENTIAL
A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
DUTIES OF POSITION: To assist certificated teachers, school administrator, or program supervisor in the development and implementation of instructional programs for the specific needs of an assigned area. Employees in this classification receive general to limited supervision from certificated teachers and/or school or program administrator within a broad framework of policies and procedures. This job classification performs a specialized support service within the District’s educational process and/or functions at a level of independence that requires creativeness, initiative, and demonstrable proven abilities.
STARTING SALARY: $2,108.91 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 9.4 (to begin as soon as possible)
NUMBER OF HOURS: 6 (daily working hours 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
