POSITION: National Board Facilitator (Job # 3332)

JOB SUMMARY: The NBC facilitator develops and implements support consultation with the Lead NBC facilitators and HR Supervisor based on the needs of the teachers pursuing National Board Certification. The NBC facilitator ensures that teachers pursuing NBC have support during their NBC candidacy. The NBC facilitator will work with teachers to address areas of need and provide teachers with a variety of experiences that support their development and ability to navigate the NBC process. NBC facilitators will provide specific, targeted, personalized support that fosters personal growth to increase student success. Support can include but is not limited to one-on-one meetings (in-person or virtual), facilitation of cohort group sessions, and delivery of professional development through Schoology, Teams, or in-person. There are 5 positions available.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Human Resources
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Be a current Calvert County Public Schools employee in good standing.
- Meets Maryland State Certification requirements or holds a bachelor’s degree.
- Currently hold National Board Certification
- Demonstrated skill in online and face to face learning and the use of a variety of instructional strategies and techniques.
- Understanding of and ability to maintain rapport with persons from diverse, cultural, ethnic, and racial groups.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated management, leadership, and human relations skills
- Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions
- Proven ability to carry an assignment to its completion
- Demonstrated success in accomplishing tasks akin to the duties and responsibilities listed below
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Calvert County Public Schools may find appropriate and acceptable
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Lead NBC Facilitators and HR Supervisor to establish support pathways for NBC candidates.
- Establish meeting dates for teacher/cohort support and develop a plan to communicate those dates to the teachers.
- Meet with NBC candidates or cohorts at least monthly for the agreed upon duration of the contract.
- Collaborate with the Lead NBC Facilitator and HR Supervisor on the completion of any special projects or products that result from support sessions.
- Schedule a variety of support sessions with individuals or cohort groups of assigned NBC candidates in accordance with school
- Secure sufficient space to provide support/PD events as appropriate.
- Administer a post-survey to candidates to demonstrate success of the facilitation process and make appropriate changes.
OTHER DUTIES: Performs related work as required or assigned by the Supervisor of Human Resources.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position may require significant periods of standing and walking and is performed in a typical school environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: EDEP (category 4) grant funded position with a stipend amount of $1,171.00 per position.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy on evaluation as established by the Calvert County Public Schools.

This position remains open until it is filled. Interviews may begin as early as September 15, 2025. References must be directly related to work experience and must include immediate supervisor.

Federal law requires that a new employee must complete the Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) in person before beginning employment. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a drug screen. Current employees of the Calvert County Public Schools are exempt from these requirements.
