Job Description/Responsibilities

Capital Program Manager

The Capital Program Manager will work effectively and collaboratively across executive, financial and locations / plan owners to ensure appropriate strategy and alignment for all stakeholders.  Works across organization to identify and prioritize projects that align to strategic goals (safety, quality, regulatory compliance, cost savings, growth, etc).  

 

  • Conduct PDS reviews with direct reports to improve skills and performance utilizing PDS as tool to conduct optimal performance discussions, articulate consistent skill evaluations, recommend actions and tactics, and measure progress. Support the widespread use of PDS. Promote and support Company culture within the organization.
  • Plan, Portfolio, Projects Leadership including support of: Business case development: impact, NPV, etc. Prioritization Approval Financial including budget, NPV, cash flow, depreciation Management Reporting Customer Relationship Mgmt / Communication / Engagement Benefit Realization / Business Fulfillment Risk Management Change Management Communications Management Governance Management
  • The Capital Planning Manger works with the sites to drive cost savings projects across the network. Identifies best practices from the network and works with other sites to implement the same actions.
  • Review the capital needs for both companies and submit a budget to senior management. Once the budget is approved, review all requests for assets before submission for approval. Track all expenditures to assure that the bank covenant is not exceeded.
  • Accountable for the administration of the Operations capital plan. Monitors and tracks progress on capital projects to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.  Develops communication plan to share feedback with site leadership about the performance of project stakeholders in order to achieve the best project outcomes.
  • Provide direction, governance, accountability and coordination for program / project manager and engineers. Create and communicate clear roles and responsibilities.  Resource planning including project managers and engineers across key initiatives Development and monitoring of KPIs to increase quality, budget, speed of delivery.  Onboarding and training of CapEx stakeholders across the organization.   Resource Management including Project Team selection, training, coordination, assignment, management, and performance. 
  • Develops, maintains, communicates Governance standards including process, roles and responsibilities, project requirements and business case expectations, approval process and thresholds, project prioritization. Continuous improvement of CapEx team systems, process, resources.  Selection of plan and project management tools and systems.  Change management activities to support continuous improvement and alignment of capex plan development, management and execution to organizational priorities.
  • Develop communication strategy with stakeholders and establish project communication plan. Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders. Follows up with vendors to insure timely delivery on commitments.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Comfortable with change in a fast moving environment.
  • implementation or project management experience.
  • Budgeting, planning and/or financial analysis experience.
  • 7 years relevant experience (minimum)

  • MBA
