Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong product manager to oversee the testing, documentation, and deployment readiness of new products within our portfolio. This role bridges engineering, operations, and field installation teams to ensure every product released is tested, documented, and repeatable at scale.
The Product Manager will own the process of validating new products through structured testing, documenting approved configurations and SKUs, and developing best practices for installation and system setup. This role ensures our solutions meet both internal standards and customer expectations while enabling scalability across large deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Product Testing & Validation
Develop and execute structured test plans for new hardware, software, and integrated solutions.
Manage pilot programs and coordinate lab testing, field testing, and iSOC validation.
Capture and analyze test results to recommend design changes, improvements, or go/no-go decisions.
Serve as the point of accountability for final product validation prior to general availability.
Documentation & SKU Management
Document approved product designs, system architectures, and SKUs for inclusion in the product catalog.
Maintain an accurate bill of materials (BOM) and ensure SKUs align with sales, operations, and finance requirements.
Create and update configuration guides, quick start sheets, and reference architecture documents.
Best Practices Development
Document and maintain installation playbooks, wiring standards, programming guidelines, and configuration best practices.
Collaborate with Operations, iSOC, and Installation Success teams to capture lessons learned and translate them into updated documentation.
Ensure all processes are repeatable, scalable, and aligned with customer requirements.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with Engineering on product design improvements based on test findings.
Support Sales Enablement with documentation to enhance customer confidence.
Collaborate with Operations and Training teams to ensure new products are supported at scale.
Act as subject matter expert for product testing, deployment readiness, and configuration standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Product Management, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in product management, technical product testing, or related field.
Strong understanding of hardware/software integration, video systems, AI analytics, or security technologies.
Proven experience in creating structured documentation, BOM/SKU management, and installation guides.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on repeatability and scale.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Experience with video surveillance systems, intrusion detection, or security operations.
Background in developing best practices for system installation or configuration.
Knowledge of AI/ML-based detection systems and IoT/edge devices is a plus.
