$17.00 - $22.10The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL SUMMARY: Completes a program that offers an introduction to potential careers for high school students who wish to gain practical experience in a professional work environment within a specific department/program area. Offers the opportunity to develop valuable workplace skills, explore potential career paths, and contribute to the overall success of the department/program. This is for non-credit bearing experiences and only for those actively in high school.POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Trainee provide assistive and supportive care to patients and staff under the direct supervision of the Nurse.
Brief Description of Duties:
The basic job responsibilities for the Program Trainee are:
Assisting the nurse with providing patient care support activities that may include: reading mail, magazines and books to patients. Play cards or games with patient. Interact with patients and family. Additional patient care related activities/functions that may be performed with direction and in the presence of the patient’s assigned nurse. Answer call lights and relay messages from patient/family to the appropriate individual. Answer telephones and take messages; greet patient; family and visitors; stock linen/supplies; run errands/deliver messages; take or pick up equipment as needed; assist in keeping environment neat/clean and clutter free.
Required Qualifications:
-Enrolled in high school or graduate, at least 16 years of age
-Employment certificate/work permit for candidate less than 18 years old
-Excellent customer service and communication skill
