Description

Act as a resource for all staff and physicians to address software and/or hardware issues.

Act as a resource to maximize software potential and to create enterprise or departmental efficiencies.
-
Develop detailed reports to meet enterprise or departmental information needs.
-
When required, install and/or perform minor troubleshooting procedures to hardware, software, or other peripheral equipment.
-
Monitor daily backup completion and report issues to IT vendor to identify and resolve problems or potential problems.
-
Hold administrative rights to software systems. Initiate and terminate user access at manager request. Act as liaison to request or terminate access to third-party systems such as hospital EMR.

Maintain records related to system changes or deletions.
-
Participate in setup and implementation of new systems, upgrades, or modifications including evaluation and testing. Act as a resource for others in determining system configurations or modifications to meet internal needs or external requirements.

Assist with training materials, procedures, and/or user training as required.

Submit hardware/software problems to software vendor support or IT vendor as indicated.

Problem solve and monitor a variety of software/hardware.

Provide support related to client internet-based portal.
-
Participate in performing system audits and identifying IT security risks as well as developing and/or implementing plans to mitigate risks.
Travel Requirements
-
All IT Specialists will be required to travel as part of their regular duties. Must be capable & able to travel and have reliable transportation to include a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
-
Training in basic technical operations or equivalent experience.
-
Two (2) experience with practice management, EHR software, and the healthcare environment preferred.
-
Experience in writing and modifying reports produced from software systems.
-
Experience in medical billing and/or clinical practice is advantageous.
-
Basic knowledge of computer hardware required
-
Working knowledge of HIPAA security issues and/or a willingness to learn.

Basic understanding of physician practice operations.
