ZF Active Safety and Electronics US, LLC has job openings (multiple) for the position of Principle Engineer - Electronics based out of its location in Farmington Hills, MI.

 

Job Duties:  Design electrical requirements and ensure traceability between system design requirements, customer requirements and safety requirements for Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS). Perform, design, and review electrical documents including but not limited to: Hardware requirements (Tools - DOORS); Hardware architect requirements (Tools - RHAPSODY); Hardware design documents; Schematics (Tools - Mentor Graphics DxDesigner); PCB Layout design (Tools Used - Mentor Graphics Expedition PCB); Design for Manufacturability (DFM); Design for Testing (DFT); Design for Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) (Tools – IQRM); Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCC) (Tools – MathCAD); Reliability Analysis (RHFM); Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA); and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Design and review signal and power integrity analysis of ADAS-Camera using Hyperlynx Tools. Test, verify, and validate high speed electrical PCB (Printed Circuit Board), test in prototype lab, calibrate setups and protocols verification. (Tools – Thermal Chamber, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Multimeter, CAN Vector tools, etc.,). Identify and test interfaces to external components (Optical sensors, Vehicle System Bus, etc.,). Identify and test interfaces to internal components (Hardware High Speed Interface, Software, Mechanical, etc.,). Interface with software development team, mechanical development team, optical development team, system development team, and system testing team. Publish documents in configuration management tools (Tools – Windchill/Integrity) and review with all associated stack holders to signoff the work products for final release in configuration management system. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available. 25% domestic travel required to ZF test and validation facilities, plant locations, and supplier locations for debugging.

 

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in the Automotive industry, and demonstrated experience with: Automotive Electronic Control Unit Design; High speed electrical Design; Signal and Power Integrity Analysis; Functional Safety Electrical Analysis; Requirement Tracking tools including DOORS; AIAG; Project Management tool including Windchill or Oracle Cloud Product Lifecycle Management (PLM); Schematics Drafting Tool including Mentor Graphics; Tools used for FuSa/FMEA including IQRM or Medini; Tools used for Electrical and Thermal Testing; and Circuit failure analysis and documentation using Fishbone or Ishikawa; Hardware architect requirements (Tools - RHAPSODY); Hardware design document; Schematics (Tools - Mentor Graphics DxDesigner); PCB Layout design (Tools Used - Mentor Graphics Expedition PCB); Design for Manufacturability (DFM); Design for Testing (DFT); Design for Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) (Tools - IQRM); Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCC) (Tools - MathCAD); Reliability Analysis (RHFM); Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA); and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
