Job Summary

As a Summer Intern at Black & Veatch in Overland Park, KS., you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse, impactful projects that support our clients’ goals while fostering your professional growth and advancing the success of Black & Veatch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with end user support, responding to tickets and support requests in a timely manner
  • Assist with implementation projects for Construction & Project Execution applications
  • Assist with core IT projects such as application upgrades and decommissioning
  • Demonstrate leadership and adaptability, with the willingness to take ownership of tasks or projects
  • Work with IT Project Managers to develop project plans with the intention of delivering requirements such as resources, timing/milestones, and risks
  • Contribute to the development of user guides, training materials, and supporting documentation
  • The ability to achieve goals and success across functionalities
  • Drive to overcome the most challenging obstacles and look for ways to improve results

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Construction Management, Project Management or a related major
  • Strong interest in Construction, Project Management, and technology solutions.
  • Business Process or Project Management would be a good fit.  
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and the desire to learn.
  • Detail-oriented with a willingness to ask questions and learn new concepts.

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment in Information Technology or related degree program. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

This internship position is expected to be in the office on a full-time basis.
