About the Role:

The Cash Room Clerk at Powderhorn Mountain Resort plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate handling, processing, and reconciliation of all cash transactions within the resort’s hospitality and recreational operations. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of cash flow, supporting financial accuracy, and providing timely reporting to management. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to count, verify, and balance cash drawers and deposits, while adhering to established policies and procedures. The Cash Room Clerk collaborates closely with various departments to facilitate smooth financial operations and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Ultimately, this position contributes to the overall financial health and operational excellence of the resort by safeguarding cash assets and supporting transparent financial practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience handling cash transactions in a retail, hospitality, or financial environment.
  • Basic proficiency with cash handling equipment and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow strict procedures and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the hospitality, tourism, or recreation industry.
  • Familiarity with financial reconciliation software or accounting systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Customer service experience to support interactions with resort staff and guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Count, verify, and reconcile daily cash receipts from multiple resort departments including ticket sales, food and beverage outlets, and retail operations.
  • Prepare and secure cash deposits, ensuring all funds are accurately documented and transported according to company policies.
  • Maintain detailed records of cash transactions and discrepancies, promptly investigating and reporting any irregularities to management.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to support month-end closing activities and audit preparations.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls, cash handling procedures, and regulatory requirements to minimize risk and prevent loss.
