Job Description
Potential students served would be in the arts and social sciences, and fields associated with functional areas such as communications, advertising, human resources, marketing, sales, consulting, management fields and a range of non-profit and government opportunities. The incumbent will be responsible for promoting opportunities (full-time, part-time and internship) for undergraduate students through the departmental establishment of solid relationships with local, regional and national employers. The position will be required to have close collaborative working relationships with the Employment Development staff relating to these disciplines as well as University Corporate Relations professionals. The incumbent will be required to communicate with all other career services staff members to facilitate the continued team efforts toward the mission and goals of the department and the Division of Student Affairs. The incumbent will participate in departmental events including (but not limited to) job fairs, programs, information sessions and on campus interviews.
Job Summary
Manages mutually beneficial connections with employers to bolster career opportunities for students. Provides outreach and career development coaching for students. Solicits corporate partnerships.
Essential Functions
- Employment Development: Curate and maintain pipelines in nonprofit, government, and industry sectors for liberal arts students.
- Employer Relationship Management: Serve as sole liaison for nonprofit, government, and non-STEM employers.
- Program Coordination: Plan and execute on-campus events, off-site employer visits, and networking programs.
- Student Preparation: Deliver tailored career and professional development for liberal arts students.
- Fundraising & Sponsorships: Secure event sponsorships and cultivate corporate partnerships.
- Experiential Learning: Engage employers in high-impact programs linking academics to career readiness.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to expand access to career pathways.
Physical Effort
Position is primarily sedentary. Computer and technology usage necessary. On event or fair days mobility [including standing or walking] is needed as well as the ability to lift and/or carry 25 lbs.
