As a Retail National Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our sales efforts and contributing to the overall growth and success of our company as a leading protein supplier and food solution manufacturer.
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven National Sales Manager to drive our retail business. This position will be based in North America working with the US team on the building and positioning of our brands across traditional grocery and club channels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, identifying new business opportunities, nurturing customer relationships, and achieving sales targets for our protein-based products and food solutions. As a key member of our sales team, you will collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment with company goals and maintain a customer-centric approach in our sales approach.
This is a remote position that may require up to 50% travel.
Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies, aiming to achieve company sales targets and objectives.
- Analyze customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of industry developments.
- Team Management:
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and a focus on exceeding sales goals.
- Manage and Collaborate with Broker partners to optimize execution and business opportunities.
Business Development:
- Proactively seek out new business opportunities and strategic partnerships within the Retail space to expand our customer base and market presence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their unique needs, and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
Sales Performance Analysis:
- Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, address challenges, and capitalize on growth opportunities specific to our protein-based products.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Ensure an exceptional customer experience by understanding customer expectations and promptly addressing any concerns or issues.
- Collaborate with customer support and broker partners to resolve client inquiries and ensure a seamless customer journey.
Sales Forecasting:
- Prepare an informed monthly product forecast to drive and ensure forward looking demand.
Sales Process Optimization:
- Continuously review and optimize the sales process to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall customer satisfaction.
- Implement best practices and sales tools to streamline workflows and improve team productivity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with a proven history of success in sales, preferably in the food industry.
- Must live in or in close proximity to a major metropolitan area.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, both written and verbal.
- Analytical mindset with the capability to make data-driven decisions and devise sales strategies.
- Customer-focused with a strong understanding of relationship management.
- Results-oriented, with a passion for achieving and exceeding sales targets.
