Clinical Care:
Diagnose and manage conditions related to menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, and reproductive organs.
Monitor pregnancies, conduct antenatal check-ups, and manage high-risk pregnancies.
Perform deliveries – both normal (vaginal) and cesarean sections.
Provide postpartum care and support to new mothers.
Treat gynaecological conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS, and cancers of the reproductive system.
Perform surgical procedures such as hysterectomies, laparoscopies, D&C, etc.
Offer family planning services and contraceptive counselling.
2. Emergency Management:
Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies such as eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, and ectopic pregnancy.
Manage miscarriages, fetal distress, and other complications.
3. Patient Education & Counselling:
Educate patients on reproductive health, prenatal care, hygiene, and sexual health.
Provide emotional support and counselling on fertility issues, family planning, and pregnancy loss.
4. Collaboration and Supervision:
Collaborate with paediatricians, anaesthetists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Supervise and train junior doctors, interns, midwives, and nurses.
5. Administrative Duties:
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
Participate in clinical audits, quality control, and improvement initiatives.
Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and medical ethics.
Qualifications:
MBBS degree with specialization (MD/MS/DNB) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Valid medical license/registration with relevant medical council.
[Optional] Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Medicine, or related subspecialties.
