Job Description:SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Logistics Supervisor oversees daily shipping, receiving, yard, and dock operations to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods. This role coordinates with carriers and drivers, and partners with warehouse and production teams to meet operational goals. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for optimizing trailer scheduling, freight flow, and compliance while driving continuous improvement in logistics performance. This position requires working at both Shafter and Lost Hills locations to support logistics operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate all logistics activities, including trailer movements, dock assignments, and freight scheduling.
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery, accurate documentation, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Manage carrier relationships, scheduling, and communication to resolve service issues or delays.
- Ensure accurate trailer yard inventory through regular audits and real-time system updates.
- Monitor and enforce safety procedures in yard and dock operations, ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company requirements.
- Partner with warehouse, production, and procurement teams to align freight movement with operational needs.
- Analyze logistics performance metrics such as trailer dwell time, on-time shipments, freight costs, and carrier performance.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
- Prepare reports and provide updates to management on logistics operations, performance, and issues.
Pay Range: $73,000 - $92,000/yr
Qualifications:- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics, transportation, or trucking operations, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of freight flow, dock/yard management, and shipping/receiving operations.
- Experience with Yard Management Systems (YMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
