What are we looking for?
This position is responsible for receiving, shipping and performing maintenance work on the laboratory equipment, and the position reports to Lab Manager/Team Leader as assigned.
Shift/Schedule: 8 am to 5 pm local time, Mon to Fri
Salary & Benefits Information
The base wage or salary range for this position ranges from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What You'll Do:
Receive samples at the laboratory delivered by carrier or customer at the laboratory
Co-ordinate with other team members to collect, organize and store samples in the warehouse.
Support in moving samples, packages from one location to another location in the laboratory
Assist in returning of samples which includes sample collections, packaging and shipping through carriers as required by the lab and customers
Assist in disposal of samples after the storage period
Maintain sample traceability details as per established process of the laboratory that includes recording details in Laboratory LIMS system
Responsible for the repair, installation and maintenance of equipment, and in upkeep of the facility
Maintain general maintenance schedule of lab equipment and facilities related items and complete the tasks as per the schedule
Provide support in simple test set up development with wood structures
When required, co-ordinate with outside contractors to repair, and maintain the equipment and facility
Support purchasing of consumables or samples from the nearby stores when required
Provide suggestions and feedback to lab manager / team leader on repair and maintenance related work like, finding qualified contractors, review of quotes to complete the work with high quality and economical way
Communicate status of the repairs, maintenance and shipping related activities to Lab Manager/Team Leader
Maintain general cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
High school diploma or GED required
Requires 3 years of Industrial mechanical equipment troubleshooting and repair experience
Trade school with pipe-fitting, machine shop, mechanical maintenance or similar trade experience preferred
Must be a team player with a “can do” attitude
Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license with reliable driving record
Ability to comply with all company, city and state regulations for operation of a motor vehicle
Ability to respond to calls for emergency repairs during off-duty hours
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 49 pounds
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
Prior experience in shipping
Trained in forklift
