MTC Driver - Shuttle (Part-time) at CHC

This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' MTC Drivers are support, entry level, individual contributors that shuttle missionaries to local appointments, airport departures and other needed locations. Drivers ensure fleet vehicles are properly inspected and maintained. Hours may fluctuate and drivers may be on call each week and on weekends. May be required to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

Responsibilities

Reports to manager level in Operations Department
● Safely transports missionaries through a variety of vehicles which may include large buses to the FrontRunner train station, the Salt Lake City International Airport, or local addresses. 
● Takes care of MTC vehicles by regularly cleaning, servicing, and ensuring the proper maintenance and repairs are conducted by the proper certified technicians.
● Adheres to all federal and state transportation laws and safety procedures. May be additional laws and safety procedures for positions that require a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a Passenger and Air Brake endorsement.
● Follows all Policies and Guidelines for MTC Drivers and abide by all MTC Van and Vehicle Safety Guidelines
● Performs pre-trip inspections prior to use of vehicle in accordance with Federal Guidelines/Utah State Law.
● Maintains a safe driving record.
● Assists with early morning missionary departures.
● Ensures all missionaries have the required documentation to travel internationally
● Possess or obtain a BYU van card prior to operation of MTC vans.
● Assists with daily vehicle inspections.
May assist in additional responsibilities including:
● Trains new drivers on pretrip and post trip inspections, bus safety protocols, proper way to pack luggage into buses, making sure inspection forms are viewed consistently and required bus maintenance is addressed as needed.
● Oversees MTC fleet and bus cleaning schedules.
● Assists with coordinating maintenance for the MTC Fleet.
● Assists with safety training in student meetings.
● May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g. assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar)

Qualifications

Required:
• Possess an excellent driving record 
• Physically fit; able to lift 50-70 pounds of weight above the shoulders, no history of fainting, falling asleep at the wheel, or any      unsafe medical conditions (which are unsafe for driving).
• Excellent eyesight or corrected vision displaying the ability to see objects and signs clearly 15 seconds away while driving at          various speeds.
• Must have a current DOT Medical Card.
• Pass any and all random drug or alcohol tests
• Maintain a current Commercial Driver’s License (class B or higher) with a Passenger and Air Brake endorsement (for CDL                positions)
• Pass a road test conducted by the MTC Fleet Coordinator or certified tester.
• Exemplify missionary and MTC conduct, dress and grooming standards. 
• Ability to learn new computer programs quickly

• Positive attitude
• To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as          sitting for long periods of time (both at a desk and behind the wheel) and using monitors/equipment.


Preferred:
• 1 year of driving experience (CDL or Shuttle)
• Possess an excellent driving record with no accidents or tickets for 3 years. 
• 1 year experience with google drive (docs and sheets) and Excel spreadsheets 
• 1 year of leadership experience
