As an Assistant Director, you will work under minimal supervision to assist the Director in operation of the veterinary care program at UT Southwestern; includes leading and mentoring animal care staff, ensure facilities are maintained, consult with researchers on protocols and humane care, provide technical support and training, and may contribute to administrative duties and instruction. Recommends changes and reviews progress with the Director.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EProvides oversight of veterinary care of research animals.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EProvides medical and surgical care for research animals.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EOversees the interviewing, hiring, training and mentoring of management/supervisors of veterinary care staff. Participates in interviewing and hiring staff.
