Basic Purpose
Leads the transmission and distribution asset performance and investment management team to ensure the planning, engineering and operation teams can make data driven decisions regarding system improvement and properly balance spending. May act as witness for general rate cases regarding T&D programs. Supports cross platform collaboration on asset management initiatives. Oversees and reports on data quality for managed assets. Develops, utilizes, and publishes criticality, health, and risk matrixes for managed assets. Reviews, reports, and utilizes outage information to define and propose scope of improvement to equipment and system reliability. Makes recommendations to improve the company’s inspection and monitoring programs. Collaborates and publishes an annual reliability improvement plan and risk management plan.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leads the asset management team to manage and influence transmission and distribution initiatives, goals, and objectives through asset performance and investment management services.
- Collaborates and publishes an annual reliability improvement plan and risk management plan. [10%]
- Guides capital and operating planning and budgeting based on asset performance management risk. [10%]
- Acts as witness for T&D programs during general rate cases. [10%]
- Ensures asset performance management principles are defined, relevant, and utilized. [10%]
- Establishes managed assets scope and requirement for the transmission and distribution system. [10%]
- Oversees and reports on data quality for managed assets (breakers, voltage regulators, transformers, relays, remote terminal units, wood poles, etcetera) with the intent to improve data quality. [10%]
- Develops, utilizes, and publishes criticality, health, and risk matrixes for managed assets. [10%]
- Reviews, reports, and utilizes outage information to define and propose scope of improvement to equipment and system reliability. [10%]
- Makes recommendations to improve the company’s inspection and monitoring programs. [10%]
- Makes recommendations as necessary regarding asset, work, and performance management applications, and supports cross platform collaboration on asset management initiatives. [10%]
Monitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in the area of specialty and 6 years of related experience with 3 years in a lead capacity and 5 years of engineering, operation, maintenance, or asset management experience in the electric system industry.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience with 3 years in a lead capacity and 5 years of engineering, operation, maintenance, or asset management experience in the electric system industry.
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Transmission and distribution system
- Equipment performance and reliability engineering.
Demonstrated skills such as:
- Analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication, motivating skills and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Asset management, condition assessment, analytics, and project management, organizing, planning, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills

Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. Minimal overnight travel required.
