SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on equipment and systems within the dairy processing facility. This role involves maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems that support pasteurization, filling, packaging, and refrigeration operations. The technician ensures equipment operates efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards to support continuous production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor, maintain, and repair boilers, pumps, compressors, filters, tanks, and other equipment in machine rooms.
- Maintain and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, including associated components.
- Service and repair pasteurizing equipment to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Maintain and repair automated conveyors, case handling systems, filling equipment, and packaging machinery.
- Maintain and repair blow molding equipment used in production operations.
- Service and repair high – and low-pressure plumbing, piping, and vacuum systems.
- Fabricate, modify, and build components as required to support operations.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues to the component level, including interpreting and applying electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Provide training and guidance to new maintenance team members to ensure safe and effective work practices.
- Participate in ammonia system operation and safety training to support refrigeration system compliance and safe handling procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum 4 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment as a maintenance technician or mechanic.
- Working knowledge of maintenance, electrical, and pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance standards preferred.
