Schedule: Flexible hours/days must be able to work some evenings, weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), and Holidays

Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Retail Associate to provide outstanding customer service to every guest who visits the Bardstown Bourbon Company. The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently in a high-paced setting. Must be able to work in a retail setting as well as assist with the setup, breakdown, and organization of our tour experiences when needed. A passion for working with the public and an exemplary work ethic are required.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet each guest upon entry to the retail shop.
- Must be willing to learn all products to accurately explain them to guests.
- Efficiently work with a POS system
- Keep retail items stocked.
- Keep retail clean by wiping down surfaces and sweeping occasionally.
- Maintain the integrity of the displays.
- Close POS systems down accurately and complete an end of shift deposit.
- Keep VE Manager and Retail Lead informed of items that are low in stock.
- Help with monthly inventory counts.
- Must be willing to cross train in all areas of the Visitor Experience
- Must be willing to learn Bardstown Bourbon Company’s distillery practices and products.
- Maintain the highest health standards, sanitation and cleanliness in the classroom and Warehouse Tasting Room to meet local, state and government health guidelines.
- Willing to participate in continuous training and educational opportunities.
- Commitment to the Company’s ISO program including the quality and food safety of our products.

Desired Qualifications and Skills
- A high school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in customer service and inventory practices
- Ability to speak and write English fluently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Basic computer skills
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day; frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee must be able to physically navigate around a plant/production environment, including the repetitive climbing of stairs and elevated walkways.
- Frequent expose to fluctuating indoor and outdoor temperatures.
- Limited overnight travel may be required and travel by car, air, train, or other means of public transportation may be needed.
- The employee must have the ability to hear and understand verbal communication in person and over communication devices (phone, radio); ability to detect and respond to alarms, warning signals, and emergency notifications; ability to distinguish differences in tone, volume, and pitch for accurate communication.
- The employee must have the ability to read printed materials, digital screens, and fine print; ability to detect visual signals such as warning lights, hand gestures, or safety signs; ability to accurately perceive depth, color, and movement as required for the role; ability to operate tools, machinery, or vehicles requiring visual coordination.
- The employee must have the ability to use taste and smell when tasing alcohol distillate.
