Job Purpose or Objective(s): Perform a variety of technical and experienced tasks involved in maintaining landscape and grounds following established schedules and instructions.
Location: Durant, OK
Work Schedule: Regular/Full Time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Pay Rate: $21.23 per hour
Primary Tasks:
- You will care for existing landscaping including flowers, ornamentals, minor tree care, mulch renewal, and replacement.
- Plant flowers for spring and fall color change outs and plant ornamentals.
- Do occasional placement and planting of new landscape areas.
- Test sprinkler systems on specific properties.
- Install new sprinkler systems.
- Monitor watering cycles of sprinkler systems.
- You will apply chemical treatments of turf and bedding areas throughout the Choctaw Nation which include pre-emerge, post-emerge and fertilization.
- Perform regular maintenance, such as removing weeds, rake weeds and prune plants.
- Monitor the health of plants to ensure they are receiving enough water, sunlight and soil nutrients.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of plant material and general horticultural practices such as planting and proper pruning
- Working knowledge of multiple hand and motorized landscape tools.
- Read and follow written or oral directions for tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Understand safety standards related to performance of the job.
- Five (5) years' experience in the landscape industry.
