Hours:  Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Residential Night Supervisor assists the Residential Manager in supervising a licensed ICF-IID program for individuals with intellectual disabilities, ensuring compliance with state licensure, ICF regulations, CSB requirements, and Life Safety Code. The Residential Night Manager typically works night shift and will travel to multiple locations during their shift.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma / GED; bachelor’s degree in human service field preferred.
  • Three (3) years working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

 RELATED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Knowledge and ability to safely assist individuals with all aspects of physical management, including equipment use, safe lifting, and physical assistance.
  • Ability to train staff to implement training programs for the individuals.
  • Ability to utilize a computer system for electronic health records documentation and reporting and training requirements.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills - written, verbal, person-to-person, and through the use of the telephone and electronic devices.
  • Ability to drive and must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license.
  • Ability to respond quickly to correct situations that are deemed to be hazardous to consumers and homes.
  • Demonstrate excellent documentation skills and maintain an organized filing system.
  • May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite, transport clients, and provide services to clients at other locations.
  • Regular attendance at training and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.
  • Ability to lift and transfer consumers up to an average of 50 to 80 pounds.
  • Ability to participate in and successfully pass CPR/First Aid/AED, medication management, and behavioral intervention training including both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
  • Effectively respond to changes occurring in the work environment.
  • Willing and able to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required.
