Responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to receiving. Organizes the warehouses and maintains cleanliness of the warehouse and receiving areas.

 

Compensation:

$21.86/hour (non-exempt)

This is a Union position with 1 opening.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports to:     Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Assistant Department Managers

Supervises:    n/a

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Operates equipment, such as a pallet jack and forklift, in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Receives all products entering the Store.
  • Verifies actual product against packing slips, confirms product integrity, and checks product temperatures as needed.
  • Initials and distributes invoices to proper managers for approvals.
  • Maintains the organization of the warehouses, as well as the cleanliness of the warehouses’ receiving areas.
  • Rotates products during the receiving-stocking activities utilizing the first-in-first-out (FIFO) method.
  • Helps monitor store shelves, replenishing stock as necessary.
  • Documents and tracks the movements of products throughout the Store and warehouses.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualification/Requirements:
  • Experience in a grocery store or warehouse environment, preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory, preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of proper food safety and handling.
  • Requires excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Requires working to established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
  • Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
  • Ability to create effective working relationships with people.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledgeable in BR Data Systems or other store databases.
  • Sweeps, dusts, and mops floors as needed.
Required Work Cards/Certifications:
  • Forklift Operator Certification (must obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Valid Hawaii Driver’s License and successful review of Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Current TB Clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. 
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision. 
  • Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold conditions. 
  • Must be able to work in a loud environment.
