ABOUT THE POSITION
Step into a leadership position where innovation meets impact— the Senior IT Infrastructure Manager offers the opportunity to shape the Court’s enterprise infrastructure across Azure and hybrid cloud environments, while driving excellence in network architecture, from routing and switching to firewall management and SD-WAN. You’ll oversee a dynamic portfolio that includes VMware virtualization, SAN storage, and robust backup and disaster recovery systems, ensuring resilience and continuity across mission-critical operations. Key responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Strategy & Oversight – Direct and manage enterprise infrastructure across Azure/hybrid cloud, network, compute, and storage domains by aligning technical operations with organizational goals to ensure scalability, resilience, and compliance.
- Data Center Operations Management – Oversee physical infrastructure, monitoring systems, and vendor coordination by implementing best practices and performance metrics to maintain uptime, optimize resource allocation, and support business continuity.
- Team Leadership & Development – Lead, mentor, and evaluate multidisciplinary IT teams through coaching, performance management, and succession planning to foster professional growth and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Project Portfolio Execution – Manage a portfolio of strategic technology projects by developing timelines, allocating resources, and tracking progress to deliver solutions that meet stakeholder expectations and budgetary constraints.
- Security & Disaster Recovery Planning – Develop and enforce security protocols and disaster recovery strategies by integrating backup systems and risk mitigation plans to safeguard data integrity and ensure rapid restoration of services during emergencies.
- Technology Standards & Innovation – Establish and promote hardware/software standards and evaluate emerging technologies by conducting research and soliciting stakeholder feedback to drive modernization, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Infrastructure Architecture Leadership – Define and evolve the Court’s infrastructure architecture strategy across cloud, network, compute, and data center domains by aligning design decisions with long-term business goals and modernization efforts.
- Cross-Domain Integration & Strategic Communication – Collaborate with IT leadership and stakeholders to integrate infrastructure strategy across divisions by translating complex technical concepts into actionable plans that support enterprise-wide service delivery and operational alignment.
- Technology Investment & Vendor Strategy – Shape infrastructure investment decisions and vendor partnerships by assessing long-term needs, negotiating contracts, and optimizing resource allocation to ensure sustainable growth and seamless integration of third-party solutions.
This is an at-will managerial position. The Trial Court Employment Protection and Governance Act (SB 2140) authorizes the Court to exclude managerial employees from the employment protection provisions of the Act subject to meet and confer.
THIS IS A TELEWORK ELIGIBLE OPPORTUNITY
This position may be eligible for full or partial telework following an initial training period and contingent upon the needs of the Court.
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the time of application:
- OPTION I: Eleven (11+) years of experience designing, implementing, or administering enterprise infrastructure systems, two (2) of which must include managing the work performance of a major infrastructure departmental function.
- OPTION II: Associate’s degree* in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field -AND- nine (9+) years of experience designing, implementing, or administering enterprise infrastructure systems, two (2) of which must include managing the work performance of a major infrastructure departmental function.
- OPTION II: Bachelor’s degree* in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field -AND- seven (7+) years of experience designing, implementing, or administering enterprise infrastructure systems, two (2) of which must include managing the work performance of a major infrastructure departmental function.
- OPTION IV: Master’s degree* in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field -AND- five (5+) years of experience designing, implementing, or administering enterprise infrastructure systems; two (2) of which must include managing the work performance of a major infrastructure departmental function.

Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio (e.g., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience). Overtime does not count toward additional credit.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a closely related field, with coursework or specialization in infrastructure systems, cloud architecture, or enterprise networking.
- Possession of advanced, industry-recognized certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Nutanix Certified Professional, ITIL Intermediate or Expert level, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Hands-on experience managing hybrid cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on Azure services, identity management, and workload migration strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in enterprise networking, including routing/switching, firewall management, SD-WAN architecture, and network performance optimization.
- Advanced knowledge of virtualization and storage technologies, including VMware vSphere, SAN/NAS systems, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Experience overseeing physical data center operations, including infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG), vendor coordination, and lifecycle management of hardware assets.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms, such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management, for incident tracking, change management, and service delivery analytics.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles as they relate to infrastructure, including network segmentation, endpoint protection, and secure configuration practices.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams, mentor staff, and manage performance in alignment with organizational goals and public sector service expectations.
- Successful track record managing complex infrastructure projects, such as cloud migrations, data center consolidations, or enterprise network redesigns, with measurable outcomes in uptime, efficiency, or cost savings.
- Demonstrated experience using automation and scripting tools for infrastructure management (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible), with a proven ability to streamline operations, enhance system reliability, and reduce manual overhead.
