JOB SUMMARY:
To work within a team of individuals to produce door and window products to meet VEKA standards. These standards enable us to provide a quality product/service to ensure our customer’s satisfaction.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Consult with lead person / supervision on daily objectives and how to meet them.
- Safely and confidently operate all of the equipment components associated with the fabrication department.
- Properly identify profiles for window, door, and accurately measure processed parts using a tape measure.
- Capable of using required hand tools safely.
- Be flexible and be able to move from one line to the other and perform the tasks assigned.
- Able to load and unload profiles from saw for packaging.
- Practice safety guidelines of all equipment components and hand tools.
- Inform lead person / supervision of any quality issues.
- Cleanliness of work station and shop area.
- Responsible for the proper set-up and start-up of production in an efficient manner.
- Responsible for the overall housekeeping of the assigned area while on shift and assisting the Lead Tech and/or Supervisor when asked throughout the shift for any part of the FAB Shop.
- Assist Material Handler in banding and sealing racks when needed.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
Ability to perform all packer duties; use good judgment; communicate accurately & effectively both by oral & written means; courage to act; ability to work under pressure; drive & initiative; be flexible; provide accurate information all the time; timeliness; and demonstrate mechanical ability.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Mechanical Aptitude, Oral Communication, Accuracy, Able to read tape measures. Obtain/maintain fork truck operator's license.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Education, no prior experience needed.
Schedule: Weekend shift (Fri, Sat, Sun - 6p - 6a)
