What you will do:

  • Schedules, updates, cancel and reschedule appointments for CHC services. Coordinates the scheduling and updating of patient tests for the ancillary departments. Verifies that company authorization has been received on required appointments prior to scheduling.
  • Organizes and files incoming authorizations for services for appointments.
  • Compiles patient charts, comparing authorization and computerized order set are aligned to promote clinic efficiency. Reviews the chart for missing orders and contacts the corporate client or C/TPA. Flags accounts for missing information for registration staff including but not limited to demographic information, orders, patient identification and insurance information.
  • Promotes efficient use of hospital services for appropriate scheduling of services.
  • Audits upcoming appointments and communicates with patients to discuss necessary Federal compliance documentation is obtained prior to service date.
  • Understands critical communication techniques to obtain accurate and complete patient demographic information. Demonstrate understanding of performing patient interview using appropriate techniques in a compassionate, empathetic manner either in person or by telephone.
  • Runs estimates utilizing information from available programs.

What you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required and completion of medical terminology class preferred.
  • Excellent clerical skills with high degree of accuracy, speed, and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to use the hospital-related computer programs, copier, fax, and printer with a high degree of accuracy and skill.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds productivity and quality standards for CHC Staff.
  • Exhibits proficiency in maintaining good rapport with physicians, ancillary departments and patients.
  • Courteously answers telephone using established greetings, and assists callers in a friendly, helpful manner.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of surgical, radiological, electrodiagnostics, cardiac diagnostics, respiratory, and oncology procedures, medical terminology, ICD-10; insurance benefits and healthcare background, preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and understand both written and oral form of communication.
  • Ability to multitask, work, and maintain composure in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive impression of the Medical Center at all times, and handle sensitive telephone and face-to-face inquiries.
  • Ability and willingness to work varied working hours, Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
  • Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of hospital emergency codes.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment. Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
