Under close supervision of staff, the intern will perform various duties: preparing land base maps; performing GIS data entry, updates, distribution, and visualization as appropriate; supporting and assisting internal and external users with GIS and/or any appropriate tools to gather supporting data and prepare hard copy maps and generate reports; plotting charts and curves from data; archiving and indexing documents and files; scripting for cartographic products and data management tools; performing related office and administrative work as required.
Currently enrolled in 2 or 4-year degree programs such as Geography or Computer Science. Other relevant degree paths may be considered, especially if the candidate has relevant work experience.
Candidates with a minimum 3.0 GPA and excellent communication skills preferred.
Position posted until filled. Additionally, applicants must submit current academic transcript (unofficial transcripts are acceptable) outlining coursework and GPA. It is expected the position would fulfill approximately 15-25 hours per week with flexible scheduling available. Candidate must have transportation. Rate of pay is $15 per hour.
Employment is contingent upon passing a physical examination including a drug/alcohol screening and a comprehensive background check.
