The Sunrise Cooperative Internship Program provides a realistic preview of an agricultural cooperative that focuses its expertise on growing our customer-owners success. We provide team-based solutions across multiple platforms including agronomy, grain, energy, precision agriculture and crop nutrition through our own PCT I Sunrise® brand.

Dive into data management, equipment installation and maintenance, soil and tissue sampling with guidance from our nationally ranked Sunrise Precision Solutions (SPS) Team. Opportunities are offered to gain insights on crop nutrition, crop production and biological trials and product production of our branded PCT I Sunrise lineup.
During our summer program you will work closely with a mentor to help guide you as you learn applicable skills to help ensure the future of the agricultural industry. In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you will have an opportunity to observe different career options through all departments at Sunrise. The Sunrise internship Program culminates with a
summer project of the intern’s choice to be presented to the Sunrise Senior Leadership Team. This project encompasses what the intern has learned through their internship and provides a chance to showcase an avenue of opportunity for Sunrise in the future. The winning presentation will earn a $1,000 scholarship.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Learn about the products and services offered, along with operational procedures of the Sunrise agronomy, grain, energy and precisions teams.
• Lead the scouting efforts on fields assigned. Fill out required forms and provide a scouting report to the agronomy team on a routine basis.
• Gain precision ag experience through soil and tissue sampling, analyzing results and making recommendations, as well as sales/installation of precision equipment.
• Develop marketing knowledge of products through participating in regional grower, sales and operation meetings.
• Expand operations management knowledge in planning, logistics, labor management and dispatching.
• Educate farmers on risk management programs offered by Sunrise including VantagePointe®, Input Financing, Fertilizer Grain Ratio Program, etc.
• Enhance knowledge around crop nutrition, crop production, biologicals and seed treatment products developed and sold through our PCT I Sunrise® brand.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers as needed.
• Learn and experience our grain and energy business.
• Complete a summer project and present it to the Sunrise leadership team. All interns who present a project have the opportunity to receive a Sunrise scholarship. One scholarship will be awarded.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
•Assist with all Sunrise plot activities.
•Participate in regional and location meetings
•Attend all Sunrise training days assigned by Mentor.
•Maintain all Sunrise equipment to company standards.
•All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
•Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
•Ability to work long varied hours/days as business dictates.
•Must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
