Cambridge has recruited talented interns from across the country to join us during the summer for a 11 week paid internship. We'll have over 25 interns join us at our home offices in Fairfield, Iowa and Phoenix, Arizona. The Next Step internship program gives students practical insight into the financial services industry and allows students to gain practical knowledge in their field. Students are partnered with a professional mentor, supervisor, and executive leader to gain networking opportunities and learn from industry professionals. At the conclusion of the internship, each intern will have the opportunity to present on their experience and a specific project of their choice.
Essential Duties:Cambridge’s Information Technology department is offering multiple internship opportunities in Infrastructure, Support, and Cybersecurity, providing hands-on experience in technical support, systems management, and security operations.
We have three Information Techonology Internships available in the Fairfield, IA office.
Key Traits
IT Support

Security Analyst
- Ideal for students wanting to investigate cybersecurity threats and support incident response.
As an Infrastructure, Support, or Cybersecurity Intern, you will:
- Provide technical support via phone, e-mail, and in-person.
- Learn a wide range of programs and websites that many companies utilize.
- Learn and apply troubleshooting skills across common platforms.
- Collaborate on infrastructure planning and optimization.
- Gain experience with VMWare, Active Directory, Azure, and IGEL.
- Gain efficiency with cybersecurity tools and techniques, cultivating a security-aware mindset.
- Investigate phishing, malware, and security alerts using looks like Carbon Black, Malwarebytes, and KnowBe4.
Education & Experience:
Students studying technology, MIS, computer and IT administration, computer systems and networking, computer science, computer programming, information systems, cybersecurity, or similar majors will likely be the most successful in these roles.
$20-24 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the compensation to be offered for this position based on the ideal candidate’s qualifications, the Company’s operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. The actual pay offered to a specific candidate may vary above or below the stated range.

Interns will participate in leadership panels to hear from company leaders, ask questions and gain valuable insight as well as have the chance to job shadow in other teams at Cambridge. Following the summer internship, interns have access to the Next Step Intern Alumni LinkedIn group to stay in touch with Cambridge and other past interns.
- Opportunity to discuss continued employment with Cambridge on a part-time or full-time basis following the internship.
