Job Goal:
Maintain the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and general upkeep of the school or facility, including minor repairs and maintenance
Promote positive community relations among students, staff, parents, and community members
Performance Responsibilities:
Clean assigned areas of the facility, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas (see attached Cleaning Procedures)
Perform general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility
Ensure the security of the facility during regular shift, including locking and securing doors
Report maintenance concerns to the Head Custodian (or Lead Custodian at smaller schools) for additional support from the Building Maintenance Department
Participate in snow removal, including shoveling, snow blowing/plowing, and applying sand/salt to walkways
Perform total cleaning and general maintenance during the summer months; may be assigned to district-wide project crews as needed
Follow all district policies and procedures
Work in conditions requiring extended exposure to cold or warm temperatures as necessary
Assist, under the direction of the Head or Lead Custodian, with the setup of special events
Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Other physical tasks as required
Terms of Employment: Hourly, work year as determined by the RSU 57 School Board
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated according to School Board policy on evaluation.
