Additional Information: Show/Hide Position: Special Education Para-educator – Powell High School Duties: Provide hands-on instructional assistance/support and daily care for students with special needs as directed by the teacher(s)/therapist(s) and building principal Responsibilities include following daily plans from supervising teacher(s) and/or therapist(s), making necessary preparations for student care, assisting student(s) as directed, collecting student data, following student behavior plans, and performing other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent required; two (2) years of college (48 hours) or Associate’s Degree (or higher) highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to work with a student that has special needs and follow instructions provided by the teacher and supervisor
Team oriented; possession of human relations skills; ability to work cooperatively with parents and staff
Ability to work in dynamic, diverse settings; willingness to adapt to specific or new working situations; responding efficiently to feedback and providing direct support to students
Prior experience with individuals with developmental and/or education-based disabilities, CPR/first aid training preferred
Salary: District Support Services Wage Schedule (2025-26 general para base = $16.65/hour; a para holding B.A. in education base = $17.65 per hour) Employment Term: 33.75 hours per week (175 student days + 6 holidays) this is a benefit eligible position Beginning Date: As soon as mutually agreed upon Closing Date: Open until filled Interested individuals should make application to: Apply online at www.pcsd1.org For questions or concerns call 307-764-6186
