Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, serve as a full-charge mechanic in overseeing the day-to-day vehicle maintenance activities of the Transportation Department; perform skilled repair, overhaul, and maintenance of school buses, passenger vehicles, trucks and a variety of other gasoline and diesel-powered equipment. This job classification is responsible for maintaining school buses, vehicles and equipment in a safe and operational condition that meets Federal and State requirements.
Requirements / Qualifications
Valid California Class B driver’s license with airbrake endorsement.
Driving record acceptable to the District’s insurance carrier for coverage.
An ASE Brake System Certification or a California State Brake Inspection Certification is required
within the probationary period (with consideration of ASE testing dates).
