Requirements / Qualifications
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Director of Student Services reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. The Director of Student Services is responsible for overseeing child welfare and attendance, district wide behavior support programs, counseling support services, student enrollment, Section 504 procedures, Student Success Team procedures, and compliance with laws, codes and regulations related to Student Services in the Lynwood Unified School District.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Preliminary or Clear Administrative Services Credential
* California Special Education, Pupil Personnel, Single Subject (Math, Science, English or Social Studies) or Multiple Subject Credential Teaching Credential
* Five years of site or district level experience as an Administrator
* Three years of increasingly responsible experience demonstrating knowledge of support services for students and families
* Proven ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and community. ? Strong oral and written communication skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Permanent LUSD employee preferred
* MA in Education
* Has a strong understanding or an ability to oversee compliance with relevant California and Federal codes and regulations, policies and procedures, including IDEA and section 504
* Has a strong understanding of student support services for various underserved student groups
* Has a strong understanding of student behavior support programs
* Possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with staff members, parents, district personnel, vendors, and other exterior parties.
* Site level administrative experience (i.e. Principal, Assistant Principal).
* Bilingual: Spanish Preferred
