Our Group Function Legal Affairs and Compliance team (“GFLA”) in EMEA —one of four Market Areas within Ericsson —delivers strategic support across a spectrum of commercial, regulatory, employment, and governance matters, empowering market achievements and ensuring regional compliance. The team works closely with regional leadership to navigate legal challenges and advance business objectives.

About this opportunity:
As the Head of Legal CU West Europe, you'll be responsible for all legal matters within your assigned Territory across a spectrum of complex commercial, corporate, regulatory, data protection, competition, intellectual property, sanctions/trade control legal issues and dispute resolution. This includes leading and/or providing senior partnership to legal and business teams across high-value and complex customer sale and sourcing contracts, strategic partnerships, corporate transactions/M&A activity, corporate governance and advisory matters and R&D activity.
You will lead a team of ten attorneys, will report to the Head of Legal EMEA, be a member of the EMEA Legal Leadership Team and be an active member of the Leadership Team for CU West Europe
What You'll Do:
Champion Business Success: Be a trusted advisor to the business, providing strategic and tactical solutions that drive things forward and close deals. You'll understand the complexities of our business but always strive for simplicity in your approach.
Lead with Integrity: Act with integrity and do the right thing, always. You'll be a role model for your business partners, demonstrating sound judgment and a commitment to protecting company value and reputation.
Embrace Collaboration: Think vertically and horizontally, fostering cohesion and driving progress across the EMEA region and within GFLA globally. You'll build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and promote collaborative ways of working.
Drive Innovation: Identify and mitigate legal and business risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You'll proactively seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance legal efficiency.
Lead and Develop Your People: You will build expert capability across the legal team. As a senior leader within GFLA, you will play a key role supporting the development of skills capability and effectiveness of your team and wider GFLA colleagues, including through sharing knowledge, best-practice, actively contributing to learning initiatives the function, alongside fostering an inclusive team environment where diverse talent thrives.
What You'll Bring:
- Top-Tier Legal Acumen: You're a seasoned legal professional with at least 15 years of experience in a corporate in-house setting or at a leading law firm, with broad international experience and agility to work at a senior level. Experience in the tech/telecommunications industry is a plus.
- Strategic Mindset: You possess strong business acumen and a strategic mindset. You can think critically, analyse complex situations, and provide sound legal advice that supports business objectives.
- Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You're an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. You can build trust and rapport with stakeholders at all levels, and you're adept at navigating challenging conversations.
- A Growth Mindset: You're a passionate and driven individual with a desire to learn and grow. You embrace change and are eager to contribute to the evolution of Ericsson's legal function.
