Job Description:

As part of an exciting transformation program within our Group Risk & Compliance division, we are looking for a Risk Systems & Reporting Data Analyst to join our Program team on a 12-month maximum term engagement!

In this role you will be responsible for supporting a stream of initiatives to design, develop and implement a strategic risk system and reporting capability for Cuscal.  The role is also responsible for supporting the reporting, analytics and insights function within the Line 2 Risk team. You will work closely with the Senior Risk Systems & Intelligence Lead and various stakeholders to analyse data, develop advanced analytics tools and data processes to support risk management decision making, monitoring and oversight.

You’ll also make an impact by: 

  • Contributing to the strategic design, implementation and maintenance of enterprise risk management and systems and reporting capability, to support proactive, adaptive and data driven approach to decision making, risk management, drawing on varied data sets both external and internal. 
  • Providing technical advisory, expertise and guidance on industry better practices to uplift risk management and reporting capabilities and promote business adoption of system and reporting solutions.
  • Proactively driving the design, development and implementation of advanced analytic models, reporting and tools to identify, assess and monitor risk by:
    • Utilising data analytics to provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance risk management practices (PowerBi, DataBricks, Python, SQL etc)
    • Collecting requirements from key Risk and Business Stakeholders to understand their needs.
    • Translating the requirements into standardised documentation that can be shared with internal build and/or third-party vendors.
    • Producing quality, concise and accurate risk and compliance reporting using risk data and insights to management, committees and the Board.
  • Proactively manage the design and oversight of uplift to the Risk management reporting process and metrics, ensuring key insights are provided to inform strategic decision-making, including:
    • Driving the design and implementation of the risk management information systems.
    • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to foster a data-driven culture.
    • Identify and present data trends and root cause analysis investigations.
    • Work closely with data analyst and reporting teams to ensure quality data is readily available to produce accurate and timely delivery of reports.
Qualifications:

What you’ll bring 

You’re an analytical thinker and problem solver, with strong communication skills and a passion for data and analytics. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are driven to contribute to a dynamic team. 

You also have:

  • 5 years + of experience in analytics, insights and reporting within the finance and banking industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management, risk management software, project management, software development lifecycle and requirements elicitation.
  • Expert skills in data analysis tools, data visualisation and relevant software (e.g. Excel, SQL, Power BI, DataBricks, Python).
  • Ability to build relationships, engage and influence senior management and key stakeholders on risk-related matters, communicating complex topics in simple, understandable terms.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to risk reporting.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to build effective workplace relationships.
  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline (e.g. finance, business, computer science, data science, software, project management)
