We’re seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our finance team and support manufacturing operations through insightful cost analysis, monthly reporting, and budget forecasting. This role is critical in bridging plant operations with corporate accounting, ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary cost accounting liaison between assigned plant(s) and corporate finance
- Analyze material and manufacturing variances using QAD and Microsoft tools; update costs to maintain accurate reporting
- Deliver monthly financial reports with commentary comparing actuals to forecasts and prior year results
- Prepare performance and budget variance analyses to improve cost controls and drive efficiency
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process by providing accurate standards and detailed inputs
- Support month-end activities including commodity cost updates
- Participate in new item setup, BOM/structure, and routing approvals
- Assist with special projects as assigned by senior leadership
