The Manager of Day Services provides oversight of all operations of the center, assuring they are aligned with the vision and mission of the agency.  The Manager of Day Services leads their team to ensure participants are receiving meaningful, high-quality services, both in-center and community-based, that focus on individual choice, maximizing community membership and promoting Employment First.

Job Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure adherence to agency mission to support people to lead fulfilling lives with a sense of belonging, purpose, and meaningful relationships.
  • Provide quality supervision to staff at the center, giving guidance and direction on a consistent basis while promoting Person-Centered Thinking, individual choice for participants and Employment First outcomes.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of meaningful daily, individualized schedules, for both in-center and community-based activities, related to PCP Outcomes and Goals.
  • Act as a liaison between the day services and community to form and maintain meaningful community connections. Guide and support staff in developing partnerships and utilizing resources in the community that give participants the opportunity to develop and maintain skills related to community membership, volunteer opportunities, retirement, and employment in integrated settings.
  • Attend annual PCP Meetings and Team Meetings as necessary.
  • Ensure daily attendance and documentation of activities and progress on PCP goals is reflected accurately in iCM.
  • Attend meetings and webinars to stay informed of best practices and upcoming changes. Ensure center and programming continues to comply with the CMS Final Rule. Prepare, educate, and lead staff towards change to new DDA Meaningful Day Services and fee for service billing in LTSS Maryland.
  • Ensure compliance with The Arc Baltimore, DDA, OHCQ, and other local, state and federal regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Interview and assist with recruitment and hiring of new employees, provide on-the-job training, and terminations. Complete documentation as appropriate.  Submit payroll biweekly.  Monitor staff compliance with trainings. 
  • Oversee the ordering of supplies and materials and building maintenance requests.
  • Assist in the development and management of the center budget.
  • Maintain positive relationships with individuals, parents, community, and agency personnel.
  • Organize and oversee transportation.
  • Complete all agency required training for the position,
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensure that The Arc Baltimore’s Community Living vehicles are inspected as required
  • Ensure monthly vehicle logs are completed and turned in on schedule
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity and a minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting people with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of DDA waiver programs and services.
  • Valid driver’s license (not provisional) with a clean driving record; transport people supported as needed and meet the agency’s driving requirements.
  • Experience in the development of community-based activities, person-centered planning and thinking
  • Attend all meetings and trainings as required

 Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Intermediate computer skills required.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills necessary.
  • Must work effectively within a team environment.

 

Working Conditions

  • Position requires frequent standing and walking.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule as dictated by the needs of the agency.
  • Some evenings and weekends are required.
  • Some lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be available by use of a personal cell phone.
