Village Manor of Cascadia is looking for a Personal Care Assistant to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals to be a FORCE For Good in Wood Village, Oregon.
Village Manor of Cascadia is a long-term care nursing facility that cares specifically for individuals with behavioral issues, as well as their physical and medical needs. We are conveniently located off I-84 exit 16, in Wood Village. We offer great benefits, as well as very competitive pay.
The Personal Care Assistant will provide quality care to residents in an environment which promotes resident rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality while providing individualized attention and encouraging residents to maintain or attain the highest level of wellbeing.
We will sponsor and pay for classes for this individual to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
This is a great opportunity to explore the medical field of nursing through performing a variety of duties. A Personal Care Assistant has the intention of progressing through nursing school. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will have the opportunity to explore career advancement though our PCA program by enrolling in CNA schooling then later completing the exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Position Summary:
A Personal Care Assistant is a compassionate caregiver who provides support and assistance to Nursing Department and staff. During this program you will complete 10 hours of online courses then complete skills checks for clinical areas for which job expectations include.
Essential Functions
· Makes residents’ beds.
· Labels resident clothing and belongings, completes resident inventory of belongings list.
· Distributes personal and facility laundry.
· Passes meal trays and offers basic tray set-up.
· Serves food and busses dishes in the dining room.
· Transports/escorts residents to areas within the facility, e.g. dining areas, activities, resident care conferences, etc.
· Assists residents to interact with activity programming.
· Stocks resident supplies.
· Punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
Other Functions
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Maintains resident/patient confidentiality.
· Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Conduct, its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
Requirements
All employees of Village Manor of Cascadia are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per Oregon's specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.
Education:
· High school diploma or GED required.
