- Comply with all Council on Aging’s (COA) and Partners in Prime policies and service specifications in accordance with the Meals on Wheels (MOW) Program.
- Ensure all kitchen functions are readied in compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Utilizing kitchen cooking appliances, pack food items each day for the meals on wheels program.
- Properly pack food item in accordance with stated serving portions.
- On a daily basis, clean kitchen appliances, dishwashers, trash holders, carts, trays and all other kitchen tables and equipment, etc. to ensure all items are clean and sanitary in, on and around each piece of equipment.
- Prepare beverages as needed or requested for daily needs and other special events.
- Clean and put away dishes, pots, pans, glasses, cups and utensils.
- Restock kitchen items (cups, plates, etc.) when needed or requested.
- Stock items in appropriate storage areas when delivered or purchased.
- Properly document and inventory kitchen supplies when needed or requested.
- Empty contents of boxes, tear down and discard boxes in the appropriate recycle or garbage containers.
- Attend all training sessions and meetings as directed by your supervisor.
- Occasionally drive and deliver meals to clients during emergency situations or during the absence of personnel or volunteers.
- Participate in promoting and maintaining a safe and positive work environment.
- Promote and present a positive image of Partners in Prime at all times, especially when conducting oneself within the community.
- Successfully complete orientation and initial and ongoing training sessions.
- All other duties as requested and appropriate for the position.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Licenses or other required certifications:
Experience: Some work experience preferred.
Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities: Must be able to follow instructions, read and understand general cooking terms. Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 40 pounds (i.e.: 1 case of canned vegetables). Must have the ability to relate to needs of 55 or older population. Attend company and other conferences, seminars and training classes as directed by your supervisor. Commit to company values. Must have strong customer service and communication skills and be a strong team player.
