Additional Information: Show/Hide We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide 1:1 support for a preschool student with medical needs. This part-time position involves assisting with the student's medical, personal, and educational needs in a school setting. The ideal candidate will be patient, reliable, and able to collaborate with educators and support staff to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities:
Provide direct medical and personal care to the assigned student.
Assist with activities of daily living (e.g., feeding, toileting, mobility).
Monitor and manage the student’s medical needs as outlined in their care plan.
Ensure the student’s safety and well-being throughout the school day.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support the student’s participation in classroom activities.
Document and communicate observations, care provided, and any changes in the student’s condition to appropriate personnel.
Support the student’s social and emotional development by fostering independence and positive engagement.
Follow all district policies, confidentiality guidelines, and medical protocols.
Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.
Assists students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement if IEP objectives, etc.
Assist students with physical or mental disabilities with activities of daily living for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in school or learning activities.
Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.
Qualifications:
Current LPN or RN license in NH.
Experience working with young children, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to follow medical care plans and respond to health-related emergencies.
Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience providing care to children with medical needs or disabilities.
Knowledge of early childhood development and educational environments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
*Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. *Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed to assist students. *Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel). *Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. *Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others. *Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students with special needs. *Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work. *Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required. *Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:
*Works in standard office and school building environments. *Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities. *Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.
