Job Description

 

Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator 

 

Reports To: Director of Human Resources

 

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator will support all facets of Human Resources across the School District, including, but not limited to Benefits Administration, Worker’s Compensation, Recruitment/Hiring, Human Resource Information Systems, Onboarding/Offboarding, Training/Development, Employee Relations, Compliance and Negotiations.

 

Qualifications:

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years of experience in human resources or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training preferred.
  2. Two years of experience in the administration of employment processes, benefits coordination, worker’s compensation, and/or HRIS preferred.
  3. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organization skills required.
  4. Resourcefulness and creativity with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  5. Must be highly organized and have a proven track record of managing and prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible.
  7. Current knowledge of Human Resources employment laws and recruiting best practices.
  8. Upbeat and positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and strong customer service orientation.
  9. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Strong technical skills; highly proficient in Google products, applicant tracking systems, HRIS, and other compliance platforms for employee records.
  11. Must possess the ability to handle sensitive information with utmost regard for confidentiality and have a commitment to excellent customer service.
  12. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with all levels in the organization.
  13. Financial aptitude and ability to evaluate benefit and salary information.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  1. Support all aspects of Teacher and Support Staff Negotiations as directed by the Human Resources Director, included, but not limited to, gathering of workman’s comp options, benefit usage matrix, benefit options, attendance at negotiation meetings, notetaking or preparation of documentation for negotiation meetings, organization of all negotiation materials.
  2. Responsible for processing information related to an employee’s lifecycle, from recruitment to off-boarding.  This includes enrollment and termination of medical benefits.
  3. Balances the monthly ACSHIC Health consortium payment.
  4. Coordinates employee leaves of absences and tracks associated personnel information to ensure smooth transitions back to the workforce.
  5. Maintains accurate personnel balances within the Redrover Absence Management system for all employees.
  6. Collaborates with the Administrative Team to maintain personnel records, HRIS, and other systems. 
  7. Represents the District and welcomes all persons entering the office, making them feel comfortable, and screens unexpected callers in accordance with predetermined procedures. Contacts relevant employees and directs visitors accordingly.
  8. Supports the recruitment function by posting, sourcing, screening, and engaging candidates for employment in various positions across the District on an as needed basis. 
  9. Escalates employee relations matters as appropriate to the Director of Human Resources. 
  10. Assists in implementing the off-boarding process including initiating exit interviews and providing feedback as appropriate. 
  11. With support from Administration and external resources, manages employee questions on benefits, payroll, policies, initiatives and systems. 
  12. Supports the HR Department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience. 
  13. Assists in compliance related to required training/development of all staff across the District.
  14. Processes worker’s compensation claims and tracks related information.
  15. Gathers market data related to benefits and compensation to ensure competitiveness across all departments.
  16. Assists with the development and implementation of records management program for filing, protection, and retrieval of records, and assures compliance with policies and legal standards. Administers the security and confidentiality procedures of records in order to be in compliance with South Fayette School District, state and federal policies and regulations.
  17. Prepares manuals and trains staff in use of new forms, reports, procedures or equipment, according to organizational policy. 
  18. Improves HR practices and processes continually, leveraging information systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness. 
  19. Processes PIMS reporting, as needed.
  20. Assists with annual HR Audits.
  21. Provides clerical support for the District Office as needed.
  22. Other duties as assigned.
