St Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton is seeking interested psychiatrists to work in our Concurrent Disorders/Addiction Psychiatry Outpatient Service (General Psychiatry). The successful candidate would be responsible for the care of outpatients presenting with an alcohol and/or other substance use disorder together with another psychiatric disorder. The psychiatrist would work as a member of a team of clinicians and allied staff who have expertise in caring for persons presenting with complex mental health needs.  

At this time, we are seeking interested psychiatrists who could provide part-time support to this service for two full days per week. The expectations for this role would include:

  • Manage a caseload of patients within a general psychiatry outpatient service

  • Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team which includes nursing and allied staff

  • Participate in weekly interdisciplinary meetings and case conferences

 

The successful candidate will hold a valid Ontario CPSO license and be a trained psychiatrist with FRCPC or equivalent. There will be an expectation that the physician will be eligible for a Faculty position with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University, and that they will have an interest and aptitude for teaching and/or clinical research.
