The Department of Accounting invites applicants for a 9-month full-time, tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting position. The appointment rank will be commensurate with the selected finalist’s experience, expertise, and training. The position begins in August 2026.

The College of Business and Public Management is an AACSB accredited school with the Master of Public Administration accredited by NASPAA. The Department of Accounting, within the College of Business and Public Management, works to successfully launch students into the accounting field. The department incorporates social responsibility into its curriculum and is a signatory school of Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).
The faculty position involves teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in the Accounting programs (open to all areas of Accounting). Courses may be offered via in-person, online, distance education, and/or hybrid modalities. The ideal candidate will use innovative teaching methods and demonstrate strong attention to the learning needs of all students. The person’s experience, expertise, substantive specialization, and pedagogical training will serve to strengthen the department’s mission and vision. The faculty member will collaborate with other departmental and college faculty & staff to ensure student success.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Accounting. Additional courses within area of specialization may be assigned based on departmental needs.
- Engage in scholarly activities such as research, presentations, and publications. This is necessary for tenure and promotion.
- Advise and mentoring students, as well as maintain required office hours
- Serve the Department, College, and the University through participation in committees
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Duties
- Ph.D in Accounting or DBA (Doctorate in Business Administration) from an AACSB accredited program. ABD may be considered - must be completed prior to position start date
- Demonstrated experience teaching accounting at the undergraduate level
- Record of active scholarly activities such as, but not limited to, research, presentations, and publications
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D in Accounting from an AACSB accredited program; and/or
- Possess industry licensure and/or certification, such as CPA, CMA
