Overview:

We are seeking a Transporter, sometimes referred to as our Patient Transporter, Hospital Transporter or Operating Room Transporter in our surgery department. The Transporter plays an important role in the flow and safety of surgical operations by moving patients, equipment, and materials between key areas. The Hospital Transporter position supports nurses, surgeons, and techs by ensuring patients and supplies get to the right place at the right time—safely and efficiently. 

 

Shift’s Available:  Days 

Employment Type: Part Time 

Hours: 8-hour shifts – 7:00am to 3:00pm 

Location: Dallas Regional Medical CenterMesquite, TX

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): 

  • Transport patients safely between pre-op, operating rooms, PACU, and inpatient units using stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds 
  • Deliver surgical instruments, equipment, and specimens to the appropriate locations while maintaining proper handling protocols 
  • Assist with room turnovers by removing used equipment, biohazard waste, and ensuring timely preparation for the next surgical case 
  • Communicate effectively with surgical staff and follow scheduling systems to ensure smooth and efficient workflow throughout the department 
  • Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients along with clerical, transport, and messenger tasks to support safe and effective patient care services 
Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience

  1. BLS (AHA Certification) upon hire and maintain current.
  2. Transportation experience preferred.
  3. Safe Patient Handling Training within 30 days of hire.
