About the Role
As an EMT at Mercy Urgent Care, you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients of all ages. From triage to treatment, you’ll support providers, respond to urgent needs, and ensure patients receive the highest level of service. This role is fast-paced, hands-on, and ideal for professionals with a strong emergency background and a passion for patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide patient support across urgent care needs, including triage, wound care, bandaging, and orthopedic procedures
Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure smooth, thorough patient care from intake through discharge
Assist front desk staff with patient registration and check-in as needed
Recognize and respond quickly to life-threatening emergencies
Maintain a safe, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment
Chart patient information accurately in the EMR system
Ensure compliance with infection control, medication storage, and safety standards
Communicate with patients and team members in a compassionate, professional manner, always respecting confidentiality and HIPAA standards
Qualifications
Current EMT-B certification required (Advanced EMT/Paramedic preferred)
CPR certification preferred
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to providing care with compassion, dignity, and respect
