ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Promotes a proactive safety culture at all levels of the organization with a focus on employee engagement.
- Reports all unsatisfactory conditions to appropriate personnel and EHS Management for correction.
- Develops and improves EHS procedures, policies, and training materials.
- Leverages expertise as a technical resource to the company in complex areas of EHS compliance, risk management, hazardous waste storage and disposal, industrial hygiene, industrial safety, and ergonomics.
- Works in tandem with Operations Leadership to determine the existence of possible EH&S hazards to the organization and assists in taking steps to correct them.
- Prepare written reports of, inspection/audit results, incidents/accidents, injuries and illness investigations, employee complaints or concerns as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- B.S./B.A. degree in EH&S, Engineering, Environmental/Natural Sciences, or in other related technical discipline with 2-5 years related EH&S experience in a manufacturing, or general industry environment.
- SPCC Preparedness & Regulations
- Hazardous Waste CFR49 Manifest and Control
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards and processes
- Subject Matter Expert knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 (Occupational Safety and Health Standards)
- Knowledge of Clean Air and Water Acts
- Knowledge of wastewater and air quality compliance
- Proficient in Word and Excel, and PowerPoint
