WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will oversee material availability and collaborate with others to schedule assembly operations and balance material, labor, and potential constraints. The role demands precise, high-quality work aligned with established standards, while emphasizing consistency, attention to detail, and a methodical, error-free approach to tasks.
- Analyze sales orders and work orders due dates, schedule impacts to prioritize, and set the cell schedule
- Determine estimated ship dates on orders (customer, transfer, and internal) based on material availability, capacity, and other constraints through close coordination with the assembly cell lead
- Maintain estimated ship dates in the company software (an enterprise resource planning program)
- Responsible for the material flow and availability for the designated assembly cell
- Execute the Kanban system
- Manage inventory levels and accuracy in the manufacturing system through the monitoring of physical inventory counts and inventory transactions that affect the assigned value stream/cell
- Perform cycle counts and work with the inventory analyst to have adjustments made to ensure inventory accuracy is maintained
- Update material status on Heijunka boards and in the company software
- Communicate potential shortages to the assembly cell lead and material expediters to minimize stock outages
- Communicate with the PFEP coordinator, inventory analyst, expeditors, distribution personnel, and warehouse personnel to resolve material issues to ensure the proper flow and levels of inventory are maintained
- Monitor and communicate to supervisors when supermarket and Kanban rules are not being followed
- Assist in the training of new shop employees in the rules of the supermarket Kanban and scheduling processes
- Other assignments as assigned
- Must be able to attain and maintain a forklift license
YOUR EXPERIENCES & SKILLS
- Associate degree or a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment preferred
- Must have basic to intermediate Excel skills and a good overall understanding of computers
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is required
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and processes is highly desired
- Ability to work well with others in a team assembly environment is required
- Good mathematical aptitude needed
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices is a plus
- Self-motivated and flexible to perform a variety of assignments and adapt to changing conditions
- Ability to make recommendations on process improvements and effectively participate in the implementation of plant policies and procedures
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations
