Position Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm no weekends.

At Abernethy Laurel we’re passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where great food and excellent service come together. Our bistro/café is a hub for community and connection—offering fresh meals, quality coffee, and friendly smiles. We're currently seeking a Bistro/Cafe Dining Services Assistant to join our dedicated team!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service
  • Operate POS system and handle transactions accurately
  • Prepare and serve light meals, snacks, and beverages
  • Assist with stocking, restocking, and inventory
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining and service areas
  • Support kitchen and service staff during peak hours
  • Follow health and safety guidelines at all times

Requirements:

  • Previous customer service, food service, or cashier experience preferred
  • Friendly, approachable, and team-oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or holidays
  • Food Handling Certificate (preferred or required, based on location)

Bistro/Cafe Dining Services Assistant 

Minimal Education: High school diploma preferred. 

Minimal Experience: Six months food service/kitchen experience in a hospital, institutional or restaurant setting preferred. Experience in long term care or health care is preferred.
