Ship Store Clerk
POSITION SUMMARY
Ship Store Clerks are responsible for maintaining inventory, assisting customers, and ensuring smooth operations of their respective ship store location. The ideal candidate is passionate about delighting customers and achieving or exceeding volume and profit goals through assisting customers in their buying decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and assists customers with their ship store needs. Identifies customer needs and fulfills them by providing excellent customer service.
- Finalize transactions by properly closing each sale with accurate paperwork, including using suggestive selling of accessories that benefit the customer.
- Resolves customer complaints or concerns in a timely manner and always looks for ways to better serve customers.
- Effectively communicates with customers & team on a timely basis, keeping them proactively informed of the status of their order.
- Maintains neat and orderly displays, with accessories and supplies well merchandised to present a professional appearance and increase sales.
- Ensures accuracy of inventory, controls shrinkage and obsolescence. Partners with ship store manager to reorder stock as necessary.
- Maintains a clean, safe and environmentally friendly work environment. Stays current on legal, safety and recall information to protect all parties
- Stays informed about different products and services offered.
- Must work weekends.
- Any other duties as assigned.
SKILLS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Experience using point-of-sale systems and basic office software.
- Knowledge of boating and marine equipment and supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
