Trueline is seeking an Associate Attorney, Construction Defect Litigation in West Los Angeles. In this hybrid role, you will manage the full lifecycle of high-profile construction defect matters—drafting pleadings, handling motions, discovery, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials—while benefiting from seasoned partner mentorship in an experienced and collaborative team environment.
What You’ll Do as the Associate Attorney, Construction Defect Litigation:
- Manage all phases of construction defect cases—from initial pleadings and discovery to depositions, alternative dispute resolution, and trial
- Draft motions, briefs, and discovery responses and prepare for court hearings and trial presentations
- Collaborate with supervising partners on case strategy, client interactions, and litigation planning
- Take ownership of matters and proactively drive progress with exceptional legal and organizational acumen
Must-Haves as the Associate Attorney, Construction Defect Litigation:
- Active California bar license
- Minimum 4 years of civil defense litigation experience, specifically in construction defect matters
- Skilled in drafting pleadings and motions, handling written discovery, supervising depositions, and managing trial preparation
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy capabilities
- Excellent multitasking ability with dependable deadline management
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and professional presentation
- Track record of producing high-quality deliverables with initiative and independence
Nice-to-Haves as the Associate Attorney, Construction Defect Litigation:
- Prior trial experience in construction defect or general liability litigation
- Familiarity with mediation and arbitration proceedings
- Experience in business development or interest in building client relationships
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual base salary range: $150,000 to $225,000, depending on experience and qualifications
- Potential for performance-based bonuses and business origination credit
